Whilst staying in Timbavati in South Africa I watched this magnificent elephant eating which inspired this painting.
I started by under painting the canvas with Cadmium Orange fine acrylic paint to evoke the heat and dust of South Africa. I then applied extra water to my brush which I held at the top of the canvas allowing it to drip down. Once dried the canvas was ready to paint the elephants.

*Giclee (/ʒiːˈkleɪ/ zhee-KLAY) is a neologism coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printers. The name originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s.
